  • Instrumental in creating a multi-billion-dollar offshore wind industry in Massachusetts. 
  • A primary advocate for Massachusetts’ nation-leading medical use of marijuana regulations.  
  • Key proponent of an energy bill defining small hydro as a renewable, preserving a valued Massachusetts industry.  
  • Successfully represented Seaport Landing in Lynn, MA, at the time, the state’s largest waterfront development. 
  • Practicing attorney for over 30 years, representing clients in energy, offshore wind, biotech, broadcasting, marijuana policy, gaming and more before the U.S. Congress, the Massachusetts General Court, and Massachusetts executive branch agencies. 

Board Member, MA Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) 

  • Provided oversight during the MBTA’s largest expansion in history, including the Orange Line extension and the Red Line reconstruction.   
  • Executive Director, MBTA Advisory Board. 
  • Served four terms representing Lynn, MA. 
  • Leader of the Democratic Study Group and Vice Chair of the Joint. Legislative Committee on State Administration. 
  • Primary Author of the Commonwealth’s open meeting and public records laws. 
  • Led regional opposition to construction of a major interstate highway through urban areas in support of expanded public rapid transit.
